East Stroudsburg University – Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates were the opening telethon volunteers for the 10th Annual American Red Cross of Monroe County’s Telethon held at ESU. The telethon, hosted by a number of well known local celebrities, was chaired by PA State Representative Mario Scavello. Representative Scavello has been leading the telethon for the past 8 years. It’s their primary fundraiser of the year.
Those Wilkins Realtors who took part in the telethon were Christine Scrofano, VP/ Assoc Broker; Mike Meilinger, Realtor; Sandra Fisher, Realtor; Blanca Cordero, Realtor/Property Manager and David Wells, Realtor. All volunteered their time on a Sunday afternoon to give a hand making calls and answering telephones. In the case of Ms. Fisher, Ms. Cordero and Mr. Wells, they had done the same on behalf of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate at last year’s telethon and this is was their second year in attendance. “We’re Realtors, we give back to the community we work in.” said Blanca Cordero.
The American Red Cross of Monroe County hosted the annual telethon which was aired on Blue Ridge CableTV, Channel 13 from noon until 9 p.m. Representative Scavello was pleased to announce that, by the end of the telethon, they had collected close to $60,000 which was their goal.
The next event sponsored by the American Red Cross of Monroe County is the 5th Annual Pocono Mountains Run for the Red to be held on May 16th, 2010.
